La Spiaggia Torre dell’Orso di Otranto è frequentata turisticamente soprattutto grazie alla bellezza del mare ed ai suoi splendidi fondali marini; offre infatti grandi spettacoli naturali, favoriti dalla limpidezza del mare, molto amato dagli appassionati di pesca subaquea. Si tratta di una bellissima spiaggia di soffice sabbia color argento, con una forma che si stende ad arco di mezza luna, tutta orlata da formazioni dunali ricoperte da fitta macchia mediterranea. Il mare è azzurro, cristallino e straordinariamente trasparente, con fondali sabbiosi e digradanti, ideale per fare il bagno e nuotare. La spiaggia è ben attrezzata ed organizzata turisticamente.
La Spiaggia degli Alimini è situata circa 5 chilometri a nord di Otranto, a ridosso dei laghetti omonimi. Si tratta di una bella spiaggia di sabbia chiara fine come il talco, tutta orlata da formazioni dunali rimaste integre ed intatte nel tempo. E’ caratterizzata da un litorale ampio e lungo, con una fitta macchia a mirto, alloro e ginepro e una profumata pineta più all’interno. Il mare, perennemente limpido e pulito, dominato dalle splendide dune di sabbia e da una natura selvaggiamente integra, rende la baia degli Alimini una delle più suggestive del Salento. I suoi fondali sabbiosi e digradanti sono inoltre ideali anche per i bambini. Peculiarità della spiaggia è la presenza non lontano da riva di un cargo arenatosi tempo fa.
Le Spiagge di Sant’Andrea sono piccole e deliziose spiaggette che si susseguono ai piedi delle splendide falesie calcaree a picco sul mare che caratterizzano il tratto costiero tra le località di Torre dell’Orso e Sant’Andrea, a nord di Otranto. Il mare in questa zona è bellissimo, trasparente e cristallino, con colori dal verde smeraldo al blu cobalto, con fondali rocciosi solo vicino alla riva e con i tre maestosi faraglioni, detti Lu Pepe, che rendono il paesaggio unico. Per la presenza di queste falesie, le spiagge diventano ombrose già nel primo pomeriggio. La vicina Torre Sant’Andrea è una piccola località il cui aspetto, quasi selvaggio, è di particolare fascino e che conserva ancora nella Grotta di San Cristoforo le iscrizioni augurali dei naviganti greci, romani e spagnoli.
La Spiaggia Approdo di Enea di Otranto è situata nei pressi di Porto Badisco, piccolo porticciolo molto suggestivo descritto nell’Eneide di Virgilio. Si tratta di un’incantevole spiaggetta collocata alla foce di un torrente scomparso, che deve il nome alla leggenda che vuole Enea toccare per la prima volta il suolo italiano su questo arenile. La spiaggia è incastonata all’interno di una piccola e stretta insenatura delimitata da scogliere di media altezza nelle quali si trovano, verso sud, grotte con resti di elefanti preistorici. A nord la spiaggia è invece sovrastata dalla rinomata Grotta dei Cervi. Il mare è bellissimo, turchese, cristallino e trasparente, con fondali digradanti e per lo più sabbiosi, ideale per nuotare e fare il bagno.
La Spiaggia dell’Orte è un susseguirsi di arenili, a tratti sabbiosi a tratti rocciosi, e di calette sabbiose protette da una profumata pineta. Il mare è bellissimo, con sfumature dal turchese al blu cobalto, con fondali digradanti, sabbiosi ma ricchi di scogli vicino a riva. Tutta la baia è molto frequentata in alta stagione, mentre si gode di maggiore tranquillità spostandosi a piedi verso lo storico faro della Palascia, qualche centinaio di metri più a sud, ove si trovano calette più solitarie.
